Advice for hair breakage after home perm?

Ok, so my mom's friend does hair as in cutting and perming. She's not professional and doesn't work in a salon but I trusted her with my hair because my sister got her hair permed and her hair came out perfectly curly with no problems at all. I would usually always get my hair braided and then take it out for that "naturally culry" look but got tired of doing that so soon after decided to get a perm.

After I got it done, my hair was really poofy, frizzy, and dry. My hair was usually like that even before my perm (I just thought my hair being poofy and curly looked better than my hair being poofy and straight). So then, I really didn't think much of it. But I then noticed I could barely even brush my hair! And from time to time, if you just grab the bottom of my hair very very lightly and run your hand down, a handful of hair would come out!

Any advice on stopping hair breakage for permed, frizzy, brittle hair?

The breakage starts from brushing too much, keeping your hair up in elastics, etc.

Make sure you keep your hair very well conditioned and use products that are made for permed, brittle and breaking hair.

Lastly, one of the best hair serums for frizz is either Biolage or John Frieda .. you only use a little and smooth it on when your hair is wet. Sometimes along with a little gel, you can let it just air dry and get a great set of curls

Well this has happened to me and I had to get my hair cut to get rid of alot of the perm. Otherwise you might want to try specialty shampoos and de frizz serums Good luck!
