What treatment should i do with my hair??? relax or rebond???

my hair is not curly or wavy. but its very thick. my husband and i want it long so i need to take care of it to look good. so i relax it to somehow minimize the thickness and it does! my hair looks great and shiny and bouncy. it lasted about 8 months. when my hair got thick again i decided to return it to the salon where it was first treated. but this time the result was not good unlike the first one. some parts of my scalp was kinda like burnt. and everyday when i brush my hair after washing it lots of hair falls. but still it minimize the thickness. the salon said that the solution they used is not like the first solution that they used when they first treated it. after five months my hair is not that thick but its dry. and i wanted to treat my hair again to look good again. the salon said they no longer use the first solution so if i get back i might get my hair burnt again. my friends told me to get a rebond coz my hair is already damaged. but im confused...

Relaxing is usually a thiro or a sodium hydroxide based solution. You need to find out which one was used on your hair. Call and ask...be certain.

Then I would consider the re-bonding - I have seen better results from it because "most" people that do it are trained more extensively. Make sure they know which relaxer was used on your hair previously because most times they will not apply this to your hair if it has been chemically processed with other relaxing solutions as your hair could take a turn for the worst.

Re-bonding is relaxing/Japanese hair straightening

In essence it is the same idea
