I wash/condition my hair very well every other day. I straighten it MAYBE once a week, other wise I wear it natural. I always use heat protecting spray. I NEVER blow dry my hair. I NEVER brush it when it is wet. I take really good care of my hair
When I straighten my hair 5 or 6 pieces stick STRAIGHT up, and I've tried a billion things to stop them!!?
you have it backwards. Blow dry it first and then use a straightener to touch it up. I promise girl. Buy a natural boar bristle round brush and NOT a metal one. quickly pull the brush down your hair repeatedly and follow w/your dryer with the concentrator nozzle. Remember to do it quickly so as to not heat damage your hair. after you do that, use straightening iron protector spray and just touch up where you need it. I have really curly hair and it was damaged and this is what my stylist told me. using the dryer and the round brush will help these pieces. remember while pulling the brush down to push your wrist forward to turn the brush down and pull down the stray hairs.

You can try Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Orange Ginger shampoo and conditioner. It worked wonders for my hair. If that doesn't work, Try Dove Leave-in Replenishing Mist after you straighten it. It should work.
