Anyway, use a very good shampoo and conditioner for one. You can go for the expensive stuff found at salons, but I've found that Pantene's formula for curly hair works wonderfully for me. I barely have to brush my hair out after that.

When styling, I use a little bit of gel and a leave-in conditioner. I mix them together in my hands before I apply them. It tends to make the gel apply evenly.

Also, it's a good idea to keep it trimmed. Split-ends and unhealthy hair can make it impossible to deal with.

Your scalp is probably tired like mine is from brushing so damn hard from the knots. use pantene smooth and sleek conditioner honestly its affordable and works better than the more expensive products. Then use moose not gel . alot of people use gel and it looks raunchy sometimes.
