Very tangled hair...what should i do?

I have thick hair and its pretty long. I brush my hair about 5 times a day but a couple minutes after I brush it is so tangled i cant put my fingers through it! I condition and shampoo my hair every shower. And i brush it really good. Why is it so tangled and nappy? How do i fix this?!

Very tangled hair...what should i do?

I use Rene Furterer Fioravanti No-Rinse Detangling Spray and it works really well. My hair is curly and gets tangled really easy too but it prevents this and really helps.

When you take a shower, comb through it while your conditioner is in it.

Apply a anti-frizz cream. I use Herbal Essences None of your Frizzness %26amp; my hair is good.

Keep brushing it , %26amp; keep a brush/comb with you always!

try leaving it in a braid or putting it up, also use Sunsilk hydra tlc, it is an excellent detangler!

PS use a WIDE tooth comb, not a brush, it breaks the hair...

This could be due to static electricity. Try using a comb/brush which is not made from plastic.

Otherwise try keeping your hair tied up, this will help prevent it from tangling.

get some leave in conditioner, or detangling spray [like the kind little kids use] and put that in your hair before you brush it, it should keep it from getting tangled that quickly.

I know this may sound harsh, but you might end up loving it! Get a super short cut! You wouldn't need to worry about getting it tangled as easily, and there are a lot of fashion opportunities this season!

mmm, i know what your talking about.

my friend, has long, thick, curly, blonde hair.

And when I was about to straighten her hair for the first time.

I brushed it out.

And all the tangles were out.

But then when I got a piece of her hair and ran the brush trhough it, to straighten, it was so tangled that it seemed like she left her hair down when she went swimming !

So I put a little lotion in her hair.

And it worked.

I do this too. Or I use conditioner.

Using lotion/conditioner especially after you have gone swimming and your hair it knotted make your hair detangled and soft !

oh no you chew gum to be more dumb why are you unhappy is it because you're a nappy headed girl who stole my pearls you brush your hair 5 times a day well that would make it look more like hay

I used to have the same problems and I got my hair thinned out and I only have to really brush it well when I get out of the shower! I also got it cut cause that could have an effect on it not being soo tangled but I hope this helps!!!! Sorry your hair is so tangled.

Try a leave-in conditioner, or the children's brand "No more tangles" to help comb your hair. Also, if you have curly hair, you should use a wide tooth comb to comb through your hair, not a boar bristle brush (just an example/guess).

The suggestion of using a deep conditioner in the shower, and combing your hair with a comb while in the shower is a good one. Also, try brushing your hair before you shower b/c wet hair is always more difficult to brush, and your hair is more likely to get damaged.

Good luck!

same problem. my long hair gets tangled very easily and quickly.

i use the detangling spray for children.

you can spray it on when your hair is dry or wet.

i do tie mine up at night in a bun, so it doesn't get tangled when i sleep. and right now with the summer here i got so fed up, i put it in little braids.

you may want to consider a layered cut. that will stop it being tangled so much. and you can keep the length long as well.

Very tangled hair...what should i do?

Use detangling spray, and try blow drying it while brushing it downward after washings. If you really get tired of it, just braid it yourself in pigtails or just put it up in a bun so you won't have to deal with it. Doing these things won't tangle it either.

I have very long, think hair. I used to have problems with my hair getting tangled from the collars of my shirt or just from turning my head. I could brush it and two seconds later it was tangled. I also had problems with major frizz.

Sally's Beauty Supply makes the brand Ion. Ion has a spray glossing polish that makes your hair sleek, soft, non-frizzy, and tangle free! I put it in while my hair is semi-damp and comb it through. It works the entire day. A lot of detanglers have an odor to them, but the Ion product seems to be a light odor. Give it a try. :)
